Tulsa OK to Troy, IL

For today we had until 5:30 p.m. to meet with the rest of the group at I40 exit 251...we dinked around so much that for the last 150 miles we were at the speed limit of 70 mph....but we made it in time to join up with 20 other bikers for the escorted ride to Troy, Illinois through St. Louis, MO commute traffic with ONE police car. Talk about Mr. Toad's wild ride. Imagine a single officer moving 25 motorcycles across 4 lanes of heavy traffic - and no one screwed up.

Once we crossed the Mississippi into Illinois we picked up a bunch of Illinois LEO on motorcycles....still moving very fast we headed to Troy. On the way we picked up 100 motorcyclists from the Troy area...it was so awesome to ride up a between two rows of motorcycles waving a cheering us on! They joined the end of the line and went with us to Troy.

Ah, Troy - want can I say? The town came all out. We road through town with the fire truck decked out in flags to the city park. Along the way the residents came out to wave. At the park the road was lined with citizens AND the boy scout troop holding flags. Following our successful arrival the town conducted a moving memorial ceremony. What an awesome community.
